Database data disclosure via unescaped message fields
Published Feb 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 17, 2025
SQL injection in ITSourcecode Simple ChatBox 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read database data through a crafted message request. The chatbox/ajax/message.php handler interpolates the rece and msg query parameters and the session user value directly into an INSERT statement. The published proof of concept requires an administrator session and demonstrates time-based injection through rece; the CVE record reports exposure of sensitive data.
