Unauthorized file access via traversed permission path
Published Mar 14, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Improper permission preservation in OpenPanel 0.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to access files outside their home directory. The Fix Permissions endpoint accepts a traversal path and changes permissions on files outside /home/username/ instead of confining the operation to the user's directory. A valid low-privilege panel session is required; exploitation makes otherwise inaccessible files in the user's container readable.
