CVE-2025-2586Network attack vector

Service interruption via undefined-route metrics collection

Published Mar 31, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed allows remote attackers to interrupt service via unauthenticated API requests. The REST API counter middleware labels and records metrics for arbitrary undefined route paths instead of ignoring them, creating attacker-controlled time series. No authentication or user interaction is required; repeated requests exhaust CPU, memory, and disk and degrade the application and cluster.
