CVE-2025-2584Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via unchecked function-type access

Published Mar 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in WABT 1.0.36 allows remote attackers to crash wasm-interp via a malformed WebAssembly file. BinaryReaderInterp::GetReturnCallDropKeepCount lacks a bounds check before accessing function-type parameter data, producing an out-of-bounds heap read. The attacker must persuade a user or automated workflow to process the file; the demonstrated consequence is a segmentation-fault crash.
