Script execution via unescaped category title
Published Feb 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored XSS in the article category title in Emlog Pro 2.5.4 allows attackers to execute arbitrary scripts in a user’s browser. The category-title handler stores a crafted title and later inserts it into an administrative page without neutralizing script-capable HTML. Exploitation requires a user to load the affected category view, where the payload acts with that user’s application privileges.
