CVE-2025-25741Network attack vector

Authenticated data access via IPv6 password overflow

Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-853 A1 firmware 1.20B07 allows remote authenticated users to alter or read data via IPv6 PPPoE settings. SetIPv6PppoeSettings copies the attacker-controlled IPv6_PppoePassword value into a fixed-size stack buffer without adequate bounds checking. Access to the authenticated network management interface is required; public evidence does not establish code execution or service interruption.
