Unauthenticated memory corruption via unchecked strcpy
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 V4 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted HTTP request. The SUB_0046AC38 function behind /goform/WifiExtraSet copies the attacker-controlled wpapsk_crypto POST value into the fixed-size v21 stack array with strcpy and no length check. No authentication or user interaction is required; the published request reaches the overflow remotely, while the record does not document a resulting crash or code execution.
