SYSTEM command execution via privileged Save dialog
Published Mar 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Improper access control in Inova Logic CUSTOMER MONITOR 3.1.757.1 allows remote authenticated users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The scheduled-tasks console trusts descript.exe, whose privileged Save dialog accepts cmd.exe as a path and launches it as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. A low-privileged session with console access can therefore open a SYSTEM command shell without administrator approval.
