Remote command execution via exposed Command API
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Improper access control in Audi Universal Traffic Recorder 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute device commands over Wi-Fi. After login with weak or default credentials, the Command API exposes commands that retrieve user data, factory-reset the dashcam, or install firmware from /sd/DSM_FW.muf. Remote authenticated users must first join the dashcam's local wireless network; successful use permits data access and device-altering operations.
