Platform denial of service via leaked module entries
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Resource exhaustion in NASA cFS Aquila 6.7.0 allows remote attackers to block external application launches via crafted commands. CFE_ES_AppCreate frees the application record after a task fails to start but leaves its loaded module active in OS_module_table without a removable reference. Repeated unauthenticated start requests with invalid stack sizes exhaust the default 20 module slots, preventing subsequent applications from launching.
