Local root command execution via unchecked XPC fields
Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025
Command injection in Speedify VPN 15.0.0 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. The SMJobBlessHelper XPC handler accepts unverified clients, embeds unchecked cmdPath and cmdBin values in shell command strings, and executes them through system() as root. Any local process can send a crafted XPC message, gaining root-level control over files, processes, and system configuration on affected macOS installations.
