Stored XSS via active SVG and XML
Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated Mar 7, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in PublicCMS 4.0.202406.f allows remote attackers to execute browser script through crafted SVG or XML web files. The CmsWebFileAdminController web-file manager stores attacker-supplied content and serves it for inline viewing without neutralizing embedded script. Exploitation requires access to create or upload web files and a browser to view the stored file; script then runs in the viewer's PublicCMS origin.
