Script execution via unneutralized toastData
Published Mar 19, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
DOM-based XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP allows remote attackers to inject script or HTML through the toastData parameter. The Frontend JS module's /o/layout-taglib/liferay/index.js processes attacker-controlled toastData without neutralizing it before page insertion. Exploitation requires active interaction by another user; successful script execution can read or modify data available to that user's browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
