Code execution via unchecked DAE buffer copy
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in DAE parsing in KeyShot Studio 2024 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DAE file. The DAE parser fails to validate a user-controlled length before copying data into a heap-based buffer. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
