Unauthenticated file read via unsanitized VRT paths
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Path traversal in ZOO-Project commits before 5f155a8 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through the WPS service. Gdal_Translate accepts VRT VRTRasterBand SourceFilename values containing ../ sequences, then GDAL treats referenced files as raw data and converts them to TIFF output. No authentication is required; exposure is limited to files readable by the service process, including configuration data and credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
