CVE-2025-2528

Application password policy bypass via ignored system settings

Published Mar 26, 2025 · Updated Mar 26, 2025

Improper authorization in Remote Desktop Manager for Windows allows local users to bypass administrator-mandated application password policy. The local settings security form fails to apply application-password system settings, letting user-specific security configuration override the mandated policy in 2025.1.24 through 2025.1.25 and 2024.3.29 and earlier. An authenticated session and a configured system policy are required; the result is weaker local password protection, not administrative access.
