CVE-2025-25269

Root code execution via configuration string injection

Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

OS command injection in CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.7.3 allows unauthenticated local attackers to execute commands as root. The configuration service on TCP port 5001 passes an improperly validated user-supplied string to a system call. The service listens by default; ZDI reports network-adjacent reachability on the tested SEC-3150, while the CNA classifies the vector as local.
