Configuration read and write via unauthenticated service
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Missing authentication in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware before 1.7.3 allows remote attackers to read and alter device configuration. The configuration service on TCP port 5001 accepts requests for protected functionality without first authenticating the requester. This exposure is limited to an adjacent network, and unauthorized configuration control compromises device confidentiality and integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
