Cross-site scripting via misencoded service filter
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Apache Felix Web Console 4.x through 4.9.8 and 5.x through 5.0.8 allows remote attackers to run script code. ServicesServlet.renderContent places the request's service filter inside JavaScript after HTML-content encoding rather than JavaScript encoding. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted Services Console request, allowing script execution in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=Version 4.x <=4.9.8
