Administrator stored XSS via rich-text default value
Published May 19, 2025 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Ninja Forms before 3.10.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The Paragraph field's Default Value setting accepts HTML event handlers when Show Rich Text Editor is enabled and renders the value in an embedded form without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Administrator access and a visitor opening a page containing the form are required, and the flaw matters when unfiltered_html is disabled, including on multisite installations.
