CVE-2025-25215Public exploit

Firmware code execution via forged session free

Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Arbitrary free in Dell ControlVault3 cv_close before 5.15.10.14 and ControlVault3 Plus before 6.2.26.36 allows local users to corrupt firmware memory. The firmware treats any in-range heap pointer beginning with SeSs as a valid session, so cv_close clears and frees an attacker-created object still in use. A low-privileged local user can use the resulting object overlap for ARM firmware code execution, and user interaction is required.
