Service interruption via unreleased TLS key handles
Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Resource leak in Microsoft go-crypto-winnative before 0.0.0-20250211154640-f49c8e1379ea allows remote attackers to exhaust memory. The cng.TLS1PRF function calls BCryptGenerateSymmetricKey but never releases the returned key handle with BCryptDestroyKey. Repeated unauthenticated TLS 1.2 handshakes against a Windows application built with GOEXPERIMENT=systemcrypto accumulate leaked handles until memory exhaustion interrupts the service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
