CVE-2025-25187Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via unescaped note titles

Published Feb 7, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Goto Anything in Joplin 3.1.23 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through note search. GotoAnything.tsx inserts an unescaped note title through dangerouslySetInnerHTML, letting inline event handlers reach Node.js APIs. Exploitation requires a note from an untrusted source and the recipient to search with Ctrl-P; resulting commands run with the desktop user's privileges.
