Code execution via NEU parser type confusion
Published Mar 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Type confusion in Siemens Simcenter Femap V2401 and V2406 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a crafted NEU file. The NEU parser fails to validate user-supplied data before interpreting it, producing a type-confusion condition. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs code in the current process context; Siemens also reports possible information leakage.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
