Stored XSS via missing nonce validation
Published Feb 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Custom Comment Notifications 1.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause stored XSS. An unnamed settings-update function omits or misapplies nonce validation, so a forged request can store attacker-supplied script. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to interact with the forged request, after which the script executes in a WordPress user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
