Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
Authentication-attempt throttling failure in Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform firmware allows remote attackers to pursue credential access. Hitachi has not published the affected authentication interface or how the firmware fails to limit repeated attempts. Network access to an authentication service is required; repeated guessing can expose account-accessible data without altering it or interrupting service.
