Process memory corruption via unbounded cache parsing

Stack-based buffer overflow in ntop nDPI 4.12 and earlier allows local users to corrupt memory by restoring a crafted address-cache file. The ndpi_address_cache_restore function passes unbounded %s conversions to fscanf for attacker-controlled IP and hostname tokens, overflowing fixed-size stack arrays. Reachability requires a consuming process to restore a cache file that a local user can influence; the overwrite can crash that process or corrupt its execution.
