CVE-2025-25059

Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled search path

Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025

Uncontrolled search path handling in Intel One Boot Flash Update before 14.1.31 allows local users to escalate privileges. Intel identifies an uncontrolled search path but does not disclose the affected executable, library, or exact path-resolution operation on untrusted input. Exploitation requires a locally authenticated low-privileged user, high complexity, additional attack requirements, and active user interaction; successful exploitation grants elevated access affecting protected data and service availability.
