Browser script execution via reflected user-page input
Published Feb 19, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Reflected cross-site scripting in Movable Type 8.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in a logged-in user's browser. The user information edit page reflects attacker-controlled input without sufficient output neutralization; Six Apart has not disclosed the responsible parameter or code path. Exploitation requires the Multi-Factor Authentication plugin to be enabled and a logged-in user to open a crafted page, permitting script execution in that browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
