CVE-2025-25012Network attack vector

User redirection and SSRF via crafted short URL

Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025

Open redirect in affected Elastic Kibana releases allows remote authenticated users to redirect users or trigger SSRF via crafted short URLs. Elastic identifies Short URLs in Discover, Dashboard, and Visualization Library as the affected locus but has not disclosed the exact handler or validation failure that accepts an untrusted destination. An authenticated user must have privileges that permit short-URL creation; exploitation can send a user to an arbitrary site or cause the Kibana server to issue a request.
