Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows NTFS allows local users to execute code by opening or mounting a crafted VHD file. NTFS processing writes beyond a heap allocation while parsing attacker-controlled filesystem data in the mounted image; Microsoft has not named the function. A victim must interact with the file, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the NTFS-processing context.
