Local privilege escalation via unchecked IOCTL pointers

Untrusted pointer dereference in the Windows Agere Modem driver allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges through crafted IOCTL requests. Several METHOD_NEITHER handlers in ltmdm64.sys accept caller-supplied addresses without verifying that they reference user-mode memory, yielding arbitrary kernel reads and writes. The driver is not loaded by default, but local users who can access or load it can alter protected kernel state; public exploitation has been demonstrated and observed.
