Authenticated command execution via unsanitized nmap_cmd
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
OS command injection in reNgine 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through scan engine settings. The nmap scan task builds and executes the configurable nmap_cmd string without first restricting the command prefix or shell metacharacters. A logged-in user who can edit a non-OSINT scan engine and launch a target scan can run commands with the server worker's privileges.
