CVE-2025-24922

Local code execution via unchecked object copy

Published Jun 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in Dell ControlVault3 before 5.15.10.14 and ControlVault3 Plus before 6.2.26.36 allows local users to execute code. securebio_identify copies an imported cv_object value of attacker-controlled length into a fixed 32-byte stack buffer without validating the length. Low-privileged Windows access to the ControlVault API or physical access is sufficient to execute code in the secure firmware and retrieve sensitive chip material.
