Authenticated bookmark modification via missing archive restriction
Published Mar 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Incorrect authorization in affected Mattermost Server releases allows remote authenticated users to alter bookmarks in archived channels. The channel-bookmark creation and update paths omit the archived-channel restriction and accept writes after a channel is archived. A valid account with bookmark permissions and archived-channel access is required; the bounded effect is unauthorized bookmark creation or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.3.0 <=10.3.3
- Affected versionversion=10.4.0 <=10.4.2
- Affected versionversion=10.5.0
