Incorrect default permissions in Tenable Nessus before 10.8.4 allow local users to gain elevated privileges on Windows hosts. A non-default Windows installation fails to enforce secure permissions on its subdirectories, leaving them accessible beyond the intended administrators. Exploitation requires a non-default installation whose directories were not manually secured, after which a low-privileged local user can gain elevated rights.
