CVE-2025-24892Network attack vector

Stored script execution via unescaped group names

Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in OpenProject 15.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through group names. The Group Management breadcrumb marks an interpolated translation string as HTML-safe, allowing script tags in a group name to bypass output escaping. A victim must view a project containing the crafted group, which runs attacker-controlled script in that user's browser.
