CVE-2025-24891Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Container-root execution via unsanitized upload filename

Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Path traversal in DumbWare DumbDrop allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary server files through the upload service. The /upload/init handler joins an unsanitized filename to the upload directory, so ../ sequences can redirect the chunk write to files such as server.js. Upload access is unauthenticated by default or requires a configured PIN; overwriting startup code yields container-root execution after the service restarts.
