Improper digest verification in regclient before 0.7.1 allows remote attackers controlling a registry to substitute a pinned manifest. ManifestGet supplied the registry's response digest to manifest.New ahead of the digest embedded in the requested reference, so content was checked against an attacker-controlled value instead of the pin. Exploitation requires a user or workflow to request a digest-pinned manifest from the malicious registry and can cause different image metadata or content to be trusted without detection.
