CVE-2025-24853Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unescaped header-link text

Published Jul 31, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Apache JSPWiki 2.12.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted header links. JSPWikiMarkupParser inserts unescaped footnote-link text into rendered HTML, while MarkdownDocument failed to enable HTML escaping when configured to disallow HTML. The crafted content must render in a victim's browser, where the script runs in the JSPWiki origin and can read sensitive session-visible information.
