CVE-2025-24814Network attack vector

Remote code execution via trusted configset replacement

Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Feb 15, 2025

Code execution in Apache Solr 9.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to load malicious plugins through a crafted core configuration. In unauthenticated FileSystemConfigSetService deployments, core creation can replace trusted configset files with other filesystem files, and Solr honors their lib directives as classpath additions. This requires standalone or user-managed mode without authentication and authorization; loaded search components or plugins execute inside the Solr process.
