Code execution via malformed DCM file parsing
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Santesoft Sante DICOM Viewer Pro 14.1.2 and earlier allows local users to execute code via a malicious DCM file. The DCM file parser writes outside an intended memory buffer while processing crafted file content, but CISA has not disclosed the responsible routine or malformed field. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file, after which attacker-supplied code runs with the victim application's privileges.
