Unauthenticated forum content disclosure via unguarded REST routes
Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Pascal Casier bbPress API 1.0.14 and earlier allows remote attackers to read restricted forum content over REST. The route registrations in bbp-api.php omit permission callbacks from forum, topic, reply, tag, and statistics GET handlers, so WordPress invokes them without a capability check. Exposure requires the plugin to be active with forum data that bbPress or another plugin is intended to restrict, and the published assessment limits the consequence to confidentiality.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
