Unauthenticated settings modification via unchecked identity selection
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Missing authorization in One to one user Chat by WPGuppy 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to impersonate users and alter settings. The plugin accepts a user-controlled identity without verifying it before calling wp_set_current_user(), which establishes that user's WordPress session context. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to changing some plugin settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
