Archived-channel disclosure via unchecked export authorization
Published Feb 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 24, 2025
Incorrect authorization in affected Mattermost releases allows remote authenticated users to export archived-channel contents. The channel-export plugin endpoint accepts an archived channel ID and returns its CSV content without enforcing the disabled archived-channel viewing setting. Exploitation requires channel membership, an archived channel, the enabled export plugin, and the archived-channel viewing setting to be disabled; the consequence is disclosure of that channel's messages.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
