Unauthenticated command execution via exposed Node-RED flows
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 1, 2025
Missing authentication in KUNBUS Revolution Pi OS Bookworm 01/2025 allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands. The default-enabled Node-RED integration leaves its flow editor without authentication, so arbitrary code blocks can be created or altered and executed as the low-privilege Node-RED user. Network reachability to TCP port 41880 is sufficient; execution is limited to that service account's operating-system privileges.
