CVE-2025-24502

Unauthenticated session hijacking via spoofed client IP

Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 5, 2025

Session fixation in Symantec Privileged Access Management 3.4.6, 4.1.0 through 4.1.8 and 4.2.0 lets attackers act as another user via spoofed IPs. Session validation trusts the client IP address when assigning certain request notifications to a user context, allowing a spoofed address to select the wrong context. An unauthenticated attacker must be on an adjacent network and can trigger notification actions under another user's context; no service interruption is reported.
