CVE-2025-2449

Code execution via unvalidated DataPlugin paths

Published Mar 18, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Path traversal in National Instruments FlexLogger 2025 Q2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted .uri file. USIReg.exe fails to validate relative paths while installing DataPlugins and writes attacker-chosen files outside the intended directory. Execution requires a user to open the file and runs with that user's privileges; NI states that the flaw is not remotely exploitable.
