CVE-2025-24482

Elevated DLL execution via writable search path

Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Jan 28, 2025

Code injection in Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View Site Edition before 15.0 allows local users to execute DLLs with elevated privileges. Default permissions leave a location in the Windows DLL search path writable, allowing a planted library to load before Rockwell's legitimate DLLs. A local user must be able to place a DLL in that earlier search location; successful loading runs the code with the affected process's privileges.
