CVE-2025-24479

Local privilege escalation via exposed Command Prompt

Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Incorrect authorization in FactoryTalk View Machine Edition before 15.00 allows local users to execute code through an elevated Command Prompt. A default Windows setting exposes the command shell at elevated privilege, but Rockwell Automation has not disclosed the setting or code path that makes it reachable. Local access requires neither prior privileges nor user interaction; the resulting shell can read or alter protected host resources and interrupt applications.
